What the board outside the shop says

The shop at 111 Jailhouse Alley in Byron paints its scope by hand on a board against the wall. It has four lines. Below, each one is taken in turn and matched to the work behind it.

Middle Georgia Glassworks

Home / Auto Glass Replacement

First line of the board

Home glass comes first on the board

Home glass replacement

The word Home sits ahead of Auto on the shop's own sign, and the shop replaces residential glass, the pane in a window frame or a door. Note which window it is and measure the pane or the opening, then call. A window size and what happened to the glass is enough to get the shop talking.

Second half of the first line

Auto glass, from a chipped windshield to a work van

Curved windshield and door glass at low sun.

Windshield replacement

One customer brought in a cracked windshield on a 2019 Toyota Camry and wrote that the man who fixed it was in and out in under 15 minutes, and that it looks as if the crack was never there. That is one customer's visit, not a promise, because the time depends on the vehicle. Replacement means taking out the old pane, readying the frame it sat in and setting new glass true in the opening.

Windshield chip repair

A rock off the interstate leaves a small point of damage, and one customer who had exactly that wrote of not even knowing where to begin. Start with a call before the chip has a chance to run into a crack. Seeing the chip is what tells the shop whether it can be repaired or whether the pane has to come out.

Auto glass replacement

Under the board's phrase Auto Glass Replacement sits every pane on a vehicle besides the windshield. Tell the shop the year, make and model and which piece of glass broke, and say where it sits on the vehicle. That is enough to start a real conversation about what the job needs.

Work vans and fleet glass

A repeat customer wrote, “Yet again Valerie and her team did a fantastic job on our work van!” A van that earns money stands still while its glass is out, so call with the vehicle and what happened, and ask how the shop would handle it.

Third line of the board

Mobile service is the line in capitals.

Mobile glass service

The shop can come to the vehicle or the property instead of the other way round. Say where the vehicle or the house is when you call, and the shop will tell you what the visit looks like.

Last line of the board

Call with the glass in front of you

Monday to Thursday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM to noon, closed weekends. Have the year, make and model, or the window size, and what happened, ready.
